Brass Casting of Various Alloys – Sand Casting, Die Casting & Investment Casting from India

Brass Castings are one of the most versatile manufacturing processes for producing complex-shaped metal parts from copper-based alloys including brass, bronze, and copper. From intricate valve bodies and plumbing fittings to heavy-duty electrical connectors and industrial components, brass casting offers near-net-shape production with excellent surface detail, dimensional stability, and good machinability. Brass Neutral Links India operates a full-service foundry offering brass casting, bronze casting, and copper alloy casting in multiple alloy grades using sand casting, die casting, investment (lost-wax) casting, and gravity die casting processes — supplying custom castings to clients across the USA, Europe, and the Middle East.

Brass & Copper Alloy Casting Processes We Offer

Sand Casting (Green Sand & Resin Sand)

Sand casting is the most economical process for low-to-medium volume brass and bronze castings. Suitable for weights from 100g to 500 kg. Tolerances to CT8-CT10 per ISO 8062. Surface finish Ra 6.3–12.5 µm. Used for valve bodies, pump housings, electrical connectors, flanges, and custom industrial parts.

Die Casting (Hot Chamber & Cold Chamber)

Die casting produces high-volume, thin-wall brass and zinc-alloy castings with excellent dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Typical tolerances CT4-CT6 per ISO 8062. Surface finish Ra 1.6–3.2 µm. Ideal for electrical fittings, automotive hardware, consumer product components, and plumbing fittings manufactured in large quantities.

Investment Casting (Lost-Wax Casting)

Investment casting (precision casting) produces complex near-net-shape brass and bronze parts with excellent surface detail, tight tolerances, and minimal machining. Tolerances CT4-CT6, surface finish Ra 3.2–6.3 µm. Ideal for jewelry, architectural hardware, precision electrical components, valve trim, and defense components.

Gravity Die Casting (Permanent Mold Casting)

Gravity die casting offers a middle ground between sand casting and die casting — better surface quality than sand casting at lower tooling cost than high-pressure die casting. Used for medium-volume brass and bronze components in plumbing, electrical, and automotive applications.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1. What is the minimum order quantity for custom brass castings?

A: For sand casting, MOQ is typically 50–100 pieces (tooling amortized over the order). For die casting, MOQ is 500–1,000 pieces to amortize tooling cost. Investment casting MOQ is 100–200 pieces. For prototype quantities (1–10 pieces), 3D-printed sand molds or machined-from-bar options are available.

Q2. How long does tooling/pattern making take for a new casting?

A: Sand casting patterns can be produced in 1–2 weeks. Investment casting wax tooling takes 2–3 weeks. Die casting tooling takes 4–6 weeks. We can provide 3D-printed patterns for rapid prototyping.

Q3. Can you cast lead-free brass alloys for potable water applications (NSF 61)?

A: Yes. We offer casting in NSF 61/NSF 372 compliant lead-free alloys including C89520 (Bismuth-Selenium Bronze), C87850 (Silicon Brass), and C69300 (Low-Lead Silicon Brass). These alloys are required for valves and fittings in contact with drinking water in many US states under the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act.

Q4. Do you supply castings with all required US import documentation?

A: Yes. We provide commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, material test certificates, and HTS classification information required for US Customs entry. We can also provide NAFTA/USMCA-style documentation if required by your supplier qualification process.

Q5. Can you reverse-engineer a brass casting from a sample part?

A: Yes. We offer reverse engineering services using 3D scanning and CMM measurement to create manufacturing drawings from a physical sample. This service is popular for replacement parts for obsolete equipment. Please ship a sample to our facility for evaluation at info@brass-neutral-links.com.
